CHILDREN’S HOLIDAY COURSE COORDINATOR, Cirencester, Glos.
Description: There’s another great opportunity going at The Talland School of Equitation, one that is also a full-time and live-in position. Calling for an “outgoing, dynamic fun person” to join the team, this role involves welcoming children to the school and showing them around. Ideally, the right candidate will have a BHS Stage 2 - Coaching under their belt, as duties will include teaching as well as organising activities, such as a weekly competition. As it’s a summer position, the job runs from mid-June to the end of August. Salary and package are said to be “negotiable” as it could include livery and training.

Responsibilities include supporting the existing team in all yard duties and horse care, and ensuring the safety and welfare of horses. The ideal candidate will be punctual, professional, and reliable. As well as being able to multitask, a certain level of fitness is required for what can be a physically demanding role. While a minimum of BHS Stage 2 care is preferable, experience within the industry will also be considered. The salary is dependent on experience and references will be taken up.

Description: David Britnell Eventing has a live-in position for an apprentice groom. A professional event yard specialising in the backing and producing of young horses while offering 5* livery, they are on the hunt for a permanent apprentice groom to work alongside their current “Dream Team”. Responsibilities include the day-to-day care of horses, yard duties, tack cleaning, and competition prepping. There will also be opportunities to ride and travel for the right candidate. This position is only open to non-smokers, and “good rates of pay” are promised, along with opportunities to bring your own horse and train with David.

Catering to family ponies, high-level competition horses, “and everything in between,” the role covers a wide range of duties including, but not limited to, thorough physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations, developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans for horses with a variety of conditions, routine procedures such as vaccinations, dental care, and ambulatory calls, and emergency and after-hours care, as and when needed.

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary, is hiring a Visitor Engagement Manager to work alongside its Fundraising and Marketing Communications team. The objective is to develop and implement a new visitor engagement strategy that enables people to connect with rescued horses and ponies across the organisation’s sanctuaries in Totnes, Newton Abbot, Yelverton and Holsworthy. It’s a job that plays a pivotal part in improving the sanctuary’s brand and profile in order to raise income to fund its charitable objectives. The role is for an initial fixed term of 12 months and it falls into salary band E, £38,046. What you need to bring to the table is a strong background in hospitality and customer service, strong leadership and management skills, and an ability to think creatively and strategically to solve problems and enhance visitor experiences.

Description: Sleighduff Stud, Livery and Competition Centre is hiring, and if the photos on their website are anything to go by, this is a horse lover’s paradise. The team are looking for a live-in groom, or someone local to the area, to help them with their newly-installed equine water treadmill. Other responsibilities include caring for the horses on the yard – home to event horses, therapy, and livery horses – and general yard duties. Riding is not essential, but it’s available for the right candidate. The successful applicant can also bring their own horse.
